The apparent increase in workload and life-stresses means we (parents) rarely have fun things to do with our children. We happily shove tablets and computers in their faces and hope they stay hooked and quiet, for as long as we are busy.

We are willing to invest in new toys and their favorite playthings hoping to keep them occupied around the clock.

It does not have to be that way though. Infact, we can have lots of fun-things-to-do with the children, for both theirs and our own good. We can do this even without spending a dime.

Fun time with kids is crucial for their health, and to help build their self-confidence. They also get to develop healthy bodies and mind and savour the parent-child bondage.

Besides, we help them stay away from addictive computers, game consoles, tablets, smartphones and drugs.

These fun times can take place indoors and outdoors. There is need to balance between the two to stimulate both the mind and the body.

For example, an outdoor stroll down the park is great for the body, whereas an indoor game of Scrabble sharpens the mind.

The activities selected below will vary for different households depending on home location, skill, ambitions, and availability of equipment to be used.
